The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) welcomed Godwin Edudzi Kudzo Tameklo as its new CEO on Monday, promising to implement innovative tactics to boost productivity and encourage creativity in Ghana's downstream petroleum industry. On Monday, January 27, 2025, while speaking to the NPA's management and employees in Accra, Mr. Tameklo reiterated his dedication to furthering the Authority's goals in line with President John Dramani Mahama's agenda for industrial development.
Speaking about his appointment, Mr. Tameklo pointed out that the President had underlined the need of having a dynamic and proactive leadership style. He declared, "The status quo is no longer sufficient," emphasizing his commitment to overhauling the industry and bringing it into line with national development objectives. He also emphasized his leadership values, which place a great value on diversity, justice, and teamwork. He encouraged teamwork to advance the Authority and informed the employees that their welfare is still a top priority.
He has established a stellar reputation for expertise in criminal, civil, and business litigation while serving as a partner at Ayine & Partners Law Firm. Over the course of his more than ten-year legal career, he has advised many organizations strategically and shown a strong aptitude for analytical problem-solving. Mr. Tameklo has been actively involved in national governance in addition to his legal profession. As the National Democratic Congress's (NDC) Director of Legal Affairs, he has participated in high-level committees such as the 2024 NDC Manifesto Committee and the 2024/2025 Transition Sub-Committee for Legal and Governance.
Mr. Tameklo's nomination marks a new era for the NPA. He is well-known for his research-driven approach and strategic ideas, and he is well respected for his ability to promote institutional and policy reforms.
